Akassia Diving.de's House Reef

Honestly, the term "house reef" doesn't even begin to capture what a gem we have right here! Our house reef isn't just some random dive site that's "right outside our door." Our house reef is a truly top-notch dive site, and we’re incredibly lucky that it’s right on our “doorstep.”

A vertical drop-off that plunges straight from 0 to 55 meters (maximum depth 30 meters) and stretches for hundreds of meters in both directions. The reef is still as intact as it was on day one, and with a little luck, you’ll see everything a diver could ever dream of.

A large, old barracuda pays us a visit almost every day, and sea turtles and our resident Napoleon fish are frequent guests. Several times a year, we’re lucky enough to have a pod of dolphins stop by to visit us; reef sharks cross our path, and once we even had a whale shark. Many dive centers around the world would have to travel long distances by boat to reach a reef like this—but not us. It’s just 200 meters from our center to the convenient dock, from which we can easily access the reef. Of course, we’ll transport your gear to the dock with our “House Reef Dragster,” and our crew will be happy to help you put on and take off your gear, as well as get in and out of the water.

Since our house reef is actually the fringing reef (outer reef), it’s possible that in very stormy weather diving there may be limited—or, in the worst and rarest of cases, not possible at all. On the other hand, as is typical for outer reefs, the biodiversity is, of course, overwhelming.

In addition to our house reef, we have many other dive sites in our program, and if the weather ever throws a wrench in our house reef plans, we’ll of course offer you great alternative dive sites.

So even in windy and wavy conditions, no one has to miss out on diving!
