Koh Bangu at a glance

Koh Bangu is the northernmost of the Similan Islands. There are several dive sites here that are absolutely worth visiting.

Take North Point, for example. As the name suggests, this dive site is located at the northernmost tip of Koh Bangu. The site essentially consists of three large groups of boulders, with the northernmost boulders lying at a depth of about 35 meters. In the deeper section, you have a good chance of seeing leopard sharks, whitetip reef sharks, and large tuna.

The main group is in the 20-meter range; beyond these boulders is a sort of channel. This part of the dive site is surrounded by sandy areas. A little further south, you’ll come to the reef. Turtles are frequently spotted here. With a lot of luck and a guide who knows the area well, you might even find a anglerfish on the reef.
