Shaab Shuna

Shaab Shuna is a huge sandy bay and a nursery for small lionfish and baby barracudas. The seagrass bed poses a navigational challenge for divers without a compass. But in the seagrass bed, you have the chance to spot giant green sea turtles along with shipwreck fish, marbled rays, and a dugong. Shaab Shuna also has plenty to offer divers who love macro life, such as seahorses and seagrass ghostfish. On the western side, between the reef and the seagrass bed, there are two small coral boulders where tiny gray baby moray eels live. You’ll also frequently encounter a huge school of bigmouth mackerel. It’s an unusual sight when all the fish open their mouths in unison to filter plankton from the water using their gill rakers.
