Shark Point - Meemu Atoll

The dive site

Shark Point - Meemu Atoll at a glance

The northwesternmost channel of the Meemu Atoll.
A small channel that you can easily dive through from one side to the other.
At both ends, you’ll find large coral boulders, around which the fish seem to gather. Large groups of various mackerel species and other schooling fish can be found here, as well as stingrays resting on the sandy bottom of the channel. At the edge of the outer reef, sharks patrol the current.
With a little luck, you might spot gray reef sharks and whitetip sharks, as well as other shark species that normally live in open water. Eagle rays are seen far more frequently.
At the end of the dive, you simply let yourself drift along the respective side of the atoll, diving past overhangs and along a beautifully overgrown reef wall.
