Surin Islands at a glance

The Surin Islands are located just 7 km south of the border with Burma, 68 km north of the Similan Islands, and the world-famous Richelieu Rock lies just 15 km east of here. With an area of 12 km² and a highest point of 350 m, Ko Surin Yai is arguably the most striking of the five Surin Islands.

All types of reefs can be found around Surin—from fringing reefs to drop-offs to underwater rock pinnacles. The reefs of the Surin Islands likely boast the greatest diversity of hard corals in Thailand. Another reason why you absolutely should visit the Surin Islands is the high likelihood of seeing turtles, blacktip sharks, and buffalohead parrotfish here.
