Destiny in profile

The MY Destiny is a luxurious safari vessel in Egypt that was built between 2021 and 2023. With a beam of 8 meters, a length of 36 meters, and a highly experienced and qualified crew, it offers a spacious home for 20 divers. Thanks to its state-of-the-art bow design, this steel vessel boasts a high degree of stability, allowing it to reach high speeds.

Cabins

The MY Destiny features 10 double cabins, all of which offer ample storage space, and the decor has been selected with great attention to detail. There are five cabins on the lower deck, including two forward cabins on the lower deck, each with a 1.50-meter-wide king-size bed, offering comfortable accommodations for couples. On the upper deck, there are three cabins with twin beds, one cabin with a double bed, and the master suite. The master suite features a king-size bed as well as an additional sleeping option with a fold-out bed. Furthermore, the suite features a minibar, a desk for photographers, and a reading nook, as well as windows that can be darkened from the inside and are mirrored on the outside, making them opaque from the outside. Each cabin has its own bathroom with a rain shower, toilet, and sink, individually controlled air conditioning, and is equipped with a high-quality mattress. Do you prefer large, small, firm, or soft pillows? No problem—we have the right pillow for you! Towels, bathrobes, and ponchos are provided; hair dryers are available upon request. An emergency kit consisting of toothpaste, a toothbrush, a razor, and shaving cream is available for purchase.

Meals

Three meals await you aboard the MY Destiny. Breakfast is served buffet-style, while lunch and dinner are à la carte. Sustainability is very important to us. Before your arrival, you’ll choose your own lunch and dinner menus, each consisting of five different dishes. This helps us avoid sending large amounts of food to the trash. Snacks are available at any time for those little hunger pangs. If you are vegetarian or vegan, please indicate this when you register. We’ll be happy to provide oat or almond milk for you.

Lounge:

The living room of the MY Destiny is furnished with cozy sofas and a library—our lounge offers this and much more. A high-quality monitor with all the latest ports is available for your laptop so you can edit and review your photos. Board games and a PlayStation 5 round out the entertainment package. Once a week, the “Bazaar” takes place in our lounge. Here you can purchase tour T-shirts, jackets, and sweaters, as well as bottles, mugs, jewelry, and much more.

Restaurant

We want to make sure you have everything you need, so we provide a large refrigerator in the restaurant with compartments labeled by cabin number. Here, you can chill and store your own sausages, chocolate, or any necessary medication.  So you don’t have to go without a good cup of coffee even while on vacation, we offer a truly heavenly alternative to filter coffee, such as café crema, latte macchiato, cappuccino, frappé, frappuccino, or Turkish coffee. A Senseo coffee maker is also available. You’ll need to bring your own coffee pods from home. Get your daily dose of vitamins and fiber in the form of smoothies and juices.

Sun Deck

Our cozy sun deck invites you to linger. Sun worshippers will, of course, find plenty to enjoy in the front section of the sun deck. There’s plenty of seating here, and guests are treated to Arabic music.

Fly Deck Bridge – Rooftop Bar

From there, you’ll be rewarded with a view of the Red Sea. There are 5 lounge chairs in front of the captain’s station and 4 lounge chairs toward the rear. From sunrise to sunset, everyone can work on their tan on the large lounge area and/or simply enjoy a delicious cocktail at sunset, completely escaping the daily grind. The Roof-Top Bar is the perfect spot for a cozy get-together. Here, you can reflect on the day and make new plans.

Diving

The grand staircase is a real eye-catcher and offers a glimpse into the salon even from a distance. Each cabin has a compartment where you can store your personal belongings. You can also charge your cameras or smartphones in these compartments. A sink for rinsing diving gear and camera equipment is also provided. Photographers will also find a large table for storing their camera gear. All compartments, tanks, towels, etc., are labeled with the cabin number and assigned a fixed location. This makes daily life on the boat much easier. The two outdoor showers and restrooms with shower facilities round out the amenities on the dive deck. On the Destiny, there are always 3 guides on board for groups of 10 or more to better cater to the guests’ experience levels or preferences (e.g., photographers).

Required equipment and experience for guests:

For the marine parks, authorities require 50 logged dives, and night dives are PROHIBITED. For North and Wreck dives, 30 logged dives are required, along with Advanced Open Water or equivalent (recommended); for St. Johns, 30 logged dives are required, along with Advanced Open Water or equivalent (recommended). Fury Shoals-Wadi Gimal: An Open Water Diver (OWD) certification or similar is very well suited for beginners and snorkelers.

For a liveaboard trip on the MY Destiny, the following documentation must be provided: at least 50 dives at the marine parks, the last dive must have taken place within the last year, a diver’s certification card, and a logbook showing the number of dives completed to date.

Please note: The tour leader of the MY DESTINY may exclude divers from diving operations at any time if there is an increased risk at particularly challenging dive sites, e.g., due to currents or depth.

The maximum diving depth prescribed by Egyptian law and CDWS regulations is 30 meters. Under certain conditions, however, extensions to 40 meters are permitted. This requires a Deep Dive certification. Night diving, as well as swimming and snorkeling, are prohibited in marine park areas.

Medical Requirements:

Participants in a liveaboard trip on the MY DESTINY are required to ensure their physical fitness by:

a medical fitness-to-dive examination (no older than 1 year) or by completing the “Declaration of Health Status.”

If the participant fails to comply with this requirement and is therefore denied service by the MY DESTINY, any resulting costs or lost booking benefits shall be borne by the safari participant. MY DESTINY is in NO event liable for bodily injury or property damage caused as a result of illness, mental health issues, misconduct, or other acute limitations in the safari participant’s fitness.

We strongly recommend that you purchase diving/travel health insurance that covers both the costs of repatriation and treatment in a decompression chamber. If you are unsure about choosing the right insurance, please feel free to contact us.
On board, we offer you the option to purchase appropriate insurance from DAN for a period of 7 or 14 days at an affordable rate.

Warranty and Liability

Accommodation for the first or last night of a safari (when the ship is anchored in port) may be in a hotel. We reserve the right to make changes to the route. This applies in particular to reasons related to the safety of the ship or the passengers, or due to diving accidents. Diving accidents may result in the cancellation of the safari. In any case, the MY DESTINY is obligated to remain near the coast in order to be available for any questioning by the authorities. In such cases, guests are not entitled to compensation or a refund of the safari price.
