Sea Friend in profile

At 40 meters long and 7 meters wide, the M/Y Sea Friend ranks among the Red Sea’s upscale safari vessels, where guests feel right at home. The M/Y Sea Friend has been completely overhauled, modernized, and even extended by 6 meters. With its elegant hull, modern, light-colored design, and generous amenities, it can accommodate up to 26 guests. However, the Sea Friend limits the number of guests to 18 to ensure ample space and comfort on board. Divers and snorkelers appreciate its comfortable and spacious dive platform at the stern.

Cabins:

There are seven spacious cabins on the lower deck, one of which has been converted into a suite with a large double bed. One cabin features a large double bed, and the remaining cabins are equipped with two single beds. There are six cabins on the upper deck/sundeck. Of these, the two single cabins have a double bed (1.40 cm), one cabin has a king-size bed (1.80 cm), and the other three cabins each have two single beds. Each cabin has air conditioning and its own spacious bathroom with a shower and separate shower access, so the bathrooms aren’t constantly flooded after showering. Every cabin has portholes that can be opened. We recommend that you open them as often as possible to let fresh air into your cabin. The air conditioning system does not provide fresh air circulation! Please keep the portholes closed while the ship is underway. Towels and bed linens are provided.

Dining:

The tastefully decorated dining area is the ideal place to enjoy homemade Egyptian and international cuisine. If you have any special requests—for example, if you’re vegetarian or have allergies—please let us know when booking so we can inform the chef. A Nespresso capsule machine and a drip coffee maker are available (we do not have any capsules or drip coffee on board! Please bring your own Nespresso capsules and drip coffee!)

Saloon:

The outdoor terrace, featuring sofas and beanbag chairs, is perfect for enjoying the sea breeze with a drink at the end of the day. The previous salon has been extended by one meter. This space has now been transformed into a separate dining area as well as a lounge area for relaxation and unwinding.

Sun Deck:

The sun deck features a wind-protected area for guests with ample seating and lounging space.

General Information:

Generally, 220-volt AC power is available. We recommend bringing a Euro-standard plug. Please note: Automatic chargers are not suitable for use on board due to frequent voltage fluctuations.

On board our ships, we carry a small selection of essential medications (for nausea, diarrhea, and earaches). Please bring your own small first-aid kit if necessary. However, please check in advance whether the medications are compatible with diving.

We require each diver to have a valid certification and logbook, as well as a valid medical certificate, if available (not required!). Your last dive should not have been more than 1 year ago. The dive guide reserves the right to prohibit guests who do not meet these requirements or who lack sufficient diving experience from diving at certain locations (current, depth, etc.) without compensation.

Diving:

The dive deck and dive platform are equipped with freshwater showers, sinks, restrooms, and lockers—or ample storage space—for your gear. Diving takes place either from one of the two spacious Zodiacs (6 m long and 2.45 m wide, equipped with environmentally friendly Yamaha 4-stroke engines) or from the dive platform. The maximum diving depth prescribed by Egyptian law and CDWS regulations is 30 meters. However, under certain conditions, dives up to 40 meters are permitted. This requires a Deep Dive certification. Night diving, as well as swimming and snorkeling, are prohibited in marine park areas. The use of a dive computer and a signal buoy is mandatory!

Equipment for Divers:

In addition to standard equipment, the following items and documents are mandatory for every diver:

Dive computer, depth gauge, and watch; safety buoy; snorkel; logbook; dive certification; regulator with an alternate air source; and dive light

Group discount:

For groups of eight or more full-paying participants, we offer a 10% discount. For groups of 13 or more, there is a 10% discount and one free spot for the group organizer. However, the group organizer is responsible for any additional fees.
